Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sends exciting message to Arsenal supporters
The Arsenal club record signing reassures the Gunners supporters that he has adjusted to English football
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reassured Arsenal supporters that he has finally adjusted to life in the Premier League.
The Gabon international moved to Arsenal in a club record £57m deal from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.
Aubameyang scored nine times in 11 games in his first six months at the north London side to hit the ground running.
The Arsenal striker netted 141 goals in 213 appearances in all competitions during his five seasons at the Bundesliga giants.
Aubameyang failed to get on the score sheet in Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to defending Premier League champions Manchester City last weekend.
The Gunners will make the short trip to current FA Cup holders Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
However, Arsenal’s record signing has reassured Gunners supporters that there is much more to come from the striker over the next 12 months.
“It was beneficial for me to arrive at Arsenal last January so I had six months to get used to the league, the country, the culture so I could be ready for my first full season,” Aubameyang told ESPN FC.
“It was not easy at the beginning six months ago. It was such a big change. It was hard to find the rhythm, especially physically. But this time, I am ready. I could have done better today [Sunday] but I am staying positive. I am really feeling good.”
Arsenal signed experienced Switzerland international Stephan Lichtsteiner in a free transfer from Serie A giants Juventus.
The Gunners have also brought in Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno in a £20m deal.
The north London outfit have also brought on Greece international Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.
Lucas Torreira became the fourth addition at The Emirates last week before Lorient teenager Matteo Guendouzi finalised a move.
