Danny Murphy is tipping Arsenal to finish in the top six in the Premier League this season.

The north London side are currently getting used to life under new manager Unai Emery at The Emirates after the Spaniard was brought in as Arsene Wenger’s successor.

It has been a difficult start to the season for the Gunners, with Arsenal having lost their first two Premier League games of the new campaign to Manchester City and Chelsea FC.

Emery has been tasked with steering Arsenal back into the top four this season, with the Gunners not having finished in the Champions League spots for the last two seasons running.

However, former Liverpool FC man Murphy believes that Gunners fans will have to settle for a top-six finish once again this season as the north Londoners get used to life under their new boss.

Speaking in an interview with bwin, Murphy said: “Arsenal still have ridiculously good firepower and fantastic home form that should be enough to see them finish in the top six.

“It is Arsenal’s defensive vulnerability against their rivals at the top of the league that push them down into the Europa League places, but you’d expect them to get the better of everyone else.”

Arsenal will look to pick up their first Premier League points of the season this weekend when they host West Ham United at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners have not won the Premier League since their famous unbeaten triumph back in 2003-04.
