Arsenal are still keen on a deal to sign Molde starlet Erling Haaland even though the transfer window is now shut, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the north London side have not given up their pursuit of the 17-year-old despite the Premier League transfer window having closed last Thursday.

The story says that Arsenal are still “desperate” to try and secure the signature of the teenager, but Red Bull Salzburg are reported to be closing in on his signature.

But it is being claimed in the same story that the north London side are ready to try and make a fresh swoop in 12 months’ time, even if that means trying to sign him from the Austrian outfit.

Arsenal were busy in the summer transfer window as they brought in five new players ahead of Unai Emery’s first season in charge at The Emirates.

The Gunners, however, slumped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat by Manchester City in their opening Premier League game at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The north London side will now dust themselves down this week as they prepare for their Premier League trip to Chelsea FC on Saturday evening.
