Lucas Torreira looks to be in high spirits after having reported to Arsenal to begin pre-season training this week.

The Uruguay international is currently getting used to life at The Emirates after having signed for the Gunners from Sampdoria earlier this summer.

New boss Unai Emery moved quickly to bring in the 22-year-old midfielder to bolster his squad ahead of his first season in charge of the north London side.

Torreira will be hoping to build up his fitness levels as quickly as possible as he looks to make himself available for the start of the new Premier League season next weekend.

And the Uruguay international seems to be happy to be settling into his new surroundings as he gets used to life training at London Colney.

Torreira posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “First day of training with the team ⚽️💪🏻 @arsenal #LT11.”

Arsenal will be looking to try and break back into the top four at the very least next season after they finished in sixth place and without a trophy under Arsene Wenger last term.

The north London side have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign under Wenger.
