Ray Parlour is backing Aaron Ramsey to stay professional despite his contract situation at Arsenal.

The Wales midfielder’s situation at The Emirates has been something of a source of uncertainty recently due to the fact that his current deal at the north London club is set to expire at the end of next season.

Ramsey is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract with the Gunners, although he is believed to be in talks with the north London side about extending his current deal.

The 27-year-old midfielder has featured in both of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season, although he was unable to prevent the Gunners from slipping to back to back defeats by Chelsea FC and Manchester City.

Despite the speculation about his long-term future at The Emirates, Parlour is tipping Ramsey to keep himself in good shape as he bids to try and make a good impression under new boss Unai Emery.

Speaking in an interview with the Sun, Parlour said: “I know Aaron as a person and he will not be worried about getting dropped or the contract situation.

“He will be getting his head down and waiting for his opportunity.”

Ramsey will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home clash against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.
