Shkodran Mustafi believes that Bernd Leno has all of the necessary attributes to go on and establish himself as the number one goalkeeper at Arsenal.

The shot-stopper has been getting used to life at The Emirates after having signed for the Gunners from Bayer Leverkusen earlier in the summer transfer window.

Despite Leno’s arrival, new Arsenal boss Unai Emery has persisted with Petr Cech as the north London club’s number one goalkeeper in the first two games of the new campaign.

However, Mustafi is clearly a big fan of new signing Leno and is tipping the shot-stopper to establish himself as the number one between the posts at Arsenal in the coming weeks and months.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Gunners defender Mustafi said: “I know Bernd very well because we played together since the Under-15s German team, so I have known him for a long time.

“He is a brilliant goalkeeper. He has everything a modern keeper needs: good feet, good hands and he has personality.”

Arsenal lost their opening two Premier League games of the season to Manchester City and Chelsea FC.

The north London side will be aiming to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on West Ham United at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign under Arsene Wenger.
