Lucas Torreira has admitted that he is thrilled with how he has been adapting to life in the Premier League with Arsenal.

The Uruguay midfielder has been getting used to life at The Emirates after having signed for the north London club from Sampdoria in the summer transfer window.

Torreira is yet to make his first Premier League start for the Gunners but he came off the bench to help the north London side claim a 3-1 win over West Ham United at the weekend.

The 22-year-old will be hoping to impress Unai Emery and work his way into the first team starting line-up at The Emirates this season.

And despite his lack of starts so far, the midfielder has insisted that he has been very happy with how he has started since his move to the north London club.

Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Torreira said: “I’m really happy. It’s all very new for me because I’ve come from a different type of league.

“The climate is different here and the way of life too, but I’m settling in nicely and training hard – the sessions are different too. The confidence will grow with every game, so that’s great.”

Torreira will be hoping to make his first start of the season for the Gunners when they take on Cardiff City away from home this weekend.

The north London side have not won the Premier League since their famous unbeaten triumph in 2003-04.
