The midfielder signed for the north London side from Sampdoria earlier this summer as Unai Emery moved quickly to start bolstering his squad ahead of his first season in charge at The Emirates.
Torreira reported to Arsenal’s London Colney training ground on Monday to begin his preparations for the new season as the 22-year-old looks to establish himself as a regular fixture in the first team under Emery.
And Torreira looked to be all smiles as he posed for a picture with goalkeeper Martinez at London Colney this week.
Martinez posted the picture above of himself with the Uruguay international on Instagram and wrote the caption: “Welcome to the @arsenal family hermano #uruguayo #arsenal @ltorreira34.”
Arsenal will be looking to at least break back into the top four next season after the Gunners ended up in sixth place in the table and without trophy last term.
Arsene Wenger stood down at the end of last season before Emery was confirmed as the club’s new manager shortly afterwards.
Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 campaign.
