Lucas Torreira is hoping to help Arsenal build on their victory over West Ham United after they claimed their first Premier League win of the season on Saturday.
The Gunners had lost their opening two games to Manchester City and Chelsea FC but managed to claim the three points against the Hammers at the weekend to get their campaign back on track.
Torreira came off the bench to help Unai Emery’s side get their first Premier League points of the season as the Gunners look to establish themselves as one of the main challengers for a top-four finish this season.
Arsenal will now look to try and make it back to back wins in the top flight when they Gunners take on Cardiff City away from home on Sunday afternoon.
And Torreira says he was delighted to play his part in helping the north London side pick up their first Premier League points of the season this weekend.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal Player, Torreira said: “I’m pleased that we’ve got the win at home against a very good team in West Ham after starting the season with two defeats. I was happy to get on too and help the team.”
Arsenal are aiming to at least try and break back into the top four this season after they finished sixth and without a trophy under Arsene Wenger last term.
