Unai Emery praised Aaron Ramsey for his solid performance as the midfielder helped Arsenal to claim a 3-1 victory over West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The 27-year-old midfielder played the full 90 minutes for the Gunners as they came from behind to claim their first Premier League points of the season with victory over the Hammers in front of their home fans.

Ramsey has been working his way back to full fitness after having struggled with an injury in pre-season but he seems to be a clear part of Emery’s plans moving forwards.

The midfielder’s situation has been a source of uncertainty in recent weeks as his current contract at The Emirates is set to expire next summer and he has not yet committed to a new contract.

However, Emery was clearly pleased with what he saw from Ramsey on Saturday as the Gunners notched up their first Premier League win of the season in front of the home crowd.

Speaking at his post-match news conference on Saturday, Emery said of Ramsey’s performance: “He worked 90 minutes. Each moment he played when the team needed him. His speed and experience is very important for us.

“They can give him the ball in a difficult moment because he plays with high personality.”

Arsenal will look to make it back to back wins in the top flight when they take on Cardiff City away from home on Sunday afternoon.
