Ray Parlour: Aaron Ramsey won’t be worried about Arsenal contract situation
The Arsenal legend delivers his verdict on Aaron Ramsey's current contractual situation
Ray Parlour doesn’t believe Aaron Ramsey will be worried about his contract situation at Arsenal.
The Gunners midfielder has less than 12 months to run on his current deal with the north London club to raise questions about his long-term future at The Emirates.
Ramsey has been in negotiations with Arsenal for almost a year but the two parties haven’t been able to agree to a new deal with the League Cup runners up.
The Wales international was linked with a potential move to Chelsea FC, Liverpool FC and Manchester United over the past few months amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding Ramsey’s future.
Ramsey started Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to defending Premier League champions Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium earlier this month.
Emery opted to omit Ramsey from his starting X for the short trip to Stamford Bridge last weekend before he came off the bench in their 3-2 loss to Chelsea FC.
Former Arsenal star Parlour doesn’t believe Ramsey will be worried about his contract situation at the north London side.
Parlour told The Sun: “I know Aaron as a person and he will not be worried about getting dropped or the contract situation.
“He will be getting his head down and waiting for his opportunity.”
Arsenal signed Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno, Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira, Borussia Dortmund centre-half Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Lorient teenager Matteo Guendouzi in the 2018 summer transfer window.
