Paul Merson has urged Aaron Ramsey to commit his future to Arsenal.

The Gunners star has less than 12 months to run on his current contract to raise doubts about his future.

Arsenal have been unable to tie down the Wales international to a long-term deal at the north London side.

Ramsey was linked with a move to Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC in the 2018 summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old could leave Arsenal for nothing next summer just as Jack Wilshere did back in July.

Former Arsenal star Merson demanded Ramsey commit to a new deal at the north London side.

“I am shocked he is still there,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“He should just sign now. I thought Chelsea might come in for him. It is a massive football club.

“He plays every week for Arsenal. He could go somewhere else and might play 15 games.”

Arsenal finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.

The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04 when Arsenal managed to go the whole season unbeaten.
