Joel Campbell is set to complete a move to Serie A side Frosinone, according to a report in Italy.

Italian media outlet Gianluca di Marzio, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that Campbell is close to a move to the Serie A minnows before Italy’s transfer deadline.

The same article states that the Costa Rica international will complete a permanent move to Frosinone following loan stints in La Liga over the past few seasons.

According to the report in Italy, the promoted Italian club will complete a swoop to sign the 2014 World Cup star following his frustrated spell at Arsenal.

Campbell netted four times in 40 games in two season in the Arsenal first-team having spent time at Saprissa, Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos, Sporting Lisbon and Real Betis.

The Costa Rica international netted two goals in nine games during a loan spell at Real Betis in the 2017-18 season.

Arsenal lost 2-0 to defending Premier League champions Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium in their opening game of the new campaign.

The Gunners will make the short trip across London to take on bitter rivals Chelsea FC in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday evening.

Arsenal finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table.
