Michael Owen predicts 29-year-old will score in Arsenal v West Ham
The Liverpool FC legend is backing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to get on the score sheet in an Arsenal win over West Ham
Michael Owen is backing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to fire Arsenal to victory over West Ham United at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
The Gunners signed Aubameyang in a £57m deal from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window to make the Gabon international the most expensive Arsenal player of all-time.
The African forward scored 10 times in 14 games in all competitions in the second half of the 2017-18 season following an electric start to his Gunners career.
The 29-year-old has drawn a blank in their opening two Premier League games following a 2-0 loss to defending champions Manchester City before a 3-2 defeat by Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
Arsenal will take on West Ham at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon as the Hammers look to end their own two-game losing streak following a 4-0 loss to Liverpool FC and 2-1 home defeat by Bournemouth.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Aubameyang to score in an Arsenal win against West Ham at The Emirates on Saturday evening.
“Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a gilt-edged opportunity on Saturday, but I feel he will be back among the goals for the Gunners sooner rather than later,” Owen told BetVictor.
“It would not surprise me if the visit of West Ham on Saturday was an opportunity for Unai Emery to start both Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.”
Arsenal finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League place for the second successive season.
The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since 2003-04.
