Bryan Robson has told Manchester United that they must simply focus on getting the three points when they take on Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Red Devils are already under pressure this season after having slumped to back to back defeats by Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur to heap the pressure on manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has been tasked with steering Manchester United back to the top of English football after their failure to win the title since back in 2013.

However, the Portuguese coach has found himself under intense scrutiny in recent days after Manchester United’s lacklustre performances and results.

The Red Devils will travel to Turf Moor on Sunday looking to get their campaign back on track as they look to underline themselves as title challengers this season.

And Red Devils legend Robson believes that it is only the result that counts as Manchester United look to try and get themselves back on track.

Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Robson said: “The lads, not just the manager and his staff, have got to get the best of themselves and show a great team spirit, if they want to get out of this and get back to challenging at the top of the league.

“All they need to do is win the next game, change it that little bit, then the confidence starts coming back, injured players return, the fitness of the players is that little bit better and, all of a sudden, things can come together very quickly.”

Manchester United ended up in second place in the Premier League table last season and without a trophy in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at the club.
