Dharmesh Sheth has revealed that Gonzalo Higuain is edging ever closer towards a transfer to AC Milan ahead of Chelsea FC this summer.

The Blues have been strongly linked with a move to bring the Argentina star to Stamford Bridge from Juventus this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the title next season.

Higuain is also being touted as a possible target for fellow Serie A side AC Milan as the clock ticks down on the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, Chelsea FC striker Alvaro Morata is being touted as a target for AC Milan as well as the speculation about the Spaniard’s future continues.

However, Sky Sports reporter Sheth has now claimed that the longer negotiations drag on, the more likely it is that Morata will stay at Chelsea FC and Higuain will move to AC Milan.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Sheth said: “The longer it goes on, the more likely Morata will stay at Chelsea and Higuain will go to Milan.”

Chelsea FC are aiming to at least break back into the top four next season after the Blues ended up in fifth place last term and missed out on Champions League qualification.

They did manage to end the campaign on a high by beating Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley back in May.
