Maurizio Sarri ‘pushing’ for Chelsea FC to sign Argentine – report
Maurizio Sarri has been pushing for Chelsea FC to sign Gonzalo Higuain, say reports
Maurizio Sarri has been “pushing” Chelsea FC to seal a deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus this summer but a deal is looking less and less likely, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that Chelsea FC’s apparent interest in bringing the Argentina forward to Stamford Bridge this summer was driven by the new manager in charge at the west London club.
However, the same report says that Chelsea FC may end up losing out to AC Milan in the race to sign the Argentina forward, 30, this summer.
It is claimed in the same story that AC Milan are now close to agreeing a loan deal to take Higuain to the San Siro, with the option to buy the striker on a permanent deal.
The same report says that the two Italian clubs are also keen to organise a swap deal involving Juventus defender Mattia Caldara and AC Milan star Leonardo Bonucci, which would make deals between the two clubs even more likely.
Chelsea FC are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Sarri prepares for his first campaign in charge.
The Blues have signed Jorginho and Rob Green so far as they look to try and bounce back from their fifth placed finish last term.
