Graeme Le Saux on why Chelsea FC are better than Arsenal
The former Chelsea and England left-back said that the Blues are a better team because they have invested more in players than Arsenal

Graeme Le Saux believes Chelsea FC are a better outfit than Arsenal because they have paid more for better players after their 3-2 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
Arsenal’s activity in the transfer market has been subject to much derision in recent years, whilst Chelsea FC have continually made high-profile big money moves.
Le Saux believes that Chelsea’s squad are of a superior quality than the Gunners and that is what has seen them succeed time and time again over their London rivals.
Le Saux told NBC: “The quality throughout Chelsea is a bit higher.
“They’ve paid a bit more and they’ve got a bit more quality.”
Arsenal have not paid more than £27m this summer on a player, whilst Chelsea spent £50m on Italian central midfielder Jorginho, and £72m on Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The Gunners have only spent more than £50m on a player once, the £57.38m arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, whilst Chelsea have broken this barrier four times.
The retired England international believes that this is the reason why Arsenal continue to struggle against the Blues and why Chelsea continue to succeed at the top end of the Premier League.
Le Saux made 256 appearances for Chelsea in two spells between 1989 and 2003 and was part of the side that won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup (now the Europa League) in 1998.
