Chelsea FC will have a real shot at winning the Premier League title if Maurizio Sarri can keep his key players, Robbie Savage says.

The Blues endured a difficult summer after Antonio Conte was belatedly dismissed following a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League.

Chelsea FC appointed Maurizio Sarri as Conte’s replacement after the Italian head coach led Napoli to runners up spot in Serie A last term.

The Blues signed Italy international Jorginho in a £53m deal from Napoli to improve their options in midfield.

Croatia international Mateo Kovacic joined on loan from Real Madrid and veteran England goalkeeper Rob Green.

Chelsea FC paid a world record fee for a goalkeeper after the Blues signed Athletic Bilbao shot stopper Kepa in a £71m deal.

Eden Hazard and Willian have been linked with a move to La Liga duo FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Former Leicester star Savage believes Chelsea FC have the squad to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.

“If Chelsea can keep hold of Hazard and Willian,” Savage told BBC Radio 5 Live. “They have a real chance. They’re a good side.”

Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.

The Blues were 3-0 winners against Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener last weekend.
