Alan Smith predicts where Chelsea FC are going to finish
Alan Smith is tipping Chelsea FC to struggle under new manager Maurizio Sarri
Alan Smith is tipping Chelsea FC to struggle under new manager Maurizio Sarri and end up in sixth place in the Premier League table this season.
The Blues are currently getting used to life under new boss Sarri after his appointment as Antonio Conte’s successor at Stamford Bridge last month.
Chelsea FC kicked off the new campaign on a positive note when they sealed a 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon in their Premier League opener.
The west London side are now preparing for their crunch Premier League showdown with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening as they look to make it two wins from two games.
However, Arsenal legend Smith feels that the Blues are likely to struggle this season under new boss Sarri as they look to try and break back into the top four.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Smith said: “It is very much an unknown quantity in Sarri and you never quite know how it will go at Chelsea, it could go one of two ways.
“But with Sarri trying to change the structure of the team, it will take time.”
Chelsea FC ended up in a disappointing fifth place in the Premier League table last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification in Conte’s final campaign in charge.
However, they did manage to end the season on a positive note as they beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final back in May.
