Maurizio Sarri set to hold crunch transfer talks with Chelsea FC star
Maurizio Sarri will hold crunch talks with Thibaut Courtois about his Chelsea FC future, say reports
Maurizio Sarri will hold crunch talks with Thibaut Courtois about his Chelsea FC future this week, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Spanish newspaper AS, a quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the new Chelsea FC boss is planning to sit down with the goalkeeper to discuss his situation at Stamford Bridge ahead of the start of the new season.
Courtois has been heavily linked with a transfer to Real Madrid this summer, with the Belgian goalkeeper having just one year left on his current contract at Chelsea FC.
The Blues are likely to want to cash in on the goalkeeper this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next year.
The shot-stopper is due to report back to Cobham to begin pre-season training over the weekend after his extended summer break following the World Cup.
According to the same story, Courtois’ proposed move to Real Madrid is proving tricky because Chelsea FC do not want to let him go until they have a quality replacement lined up.
The same article says that Sarri will hold talks with Courtois this week, but that the goalkeeper will inform the new Chelsea FC boss that his decision to leave is “firm”.
