Eden Hazard has admitted that he is still working his way towards full fitness after Chelsea FC’s 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Sunday.

Hazard started the game and scored Chelsea FC’s opening goal from the penalty spot at St James’ Park as he helped the Blues claim all three points and secure their third straight win of the new season under Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea FC are aiming to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title this season after they finished in fifth place and won the FA Cup last term under Antonio Conte.

Hazard has returned to action for Chelsea FC early this season despite his involvement in the World Cup in Russia with Belgium this summer.

And the 27-year-old playmaker admits that he is still working on his fitness levels as he looks to try and help Chelsea FC challenge for the Premier League title this term.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports after Sunday’s game, Hazard said: “I felt tired after the game but happy with the result and the goal.

“When you win games, you forget that you are tired so now we have one week to rest and be ready for the next one.

“Against Newcastle, we spoke at half-time that we just needed to keep the ball and not go too quickly up front but when we got chances, we needed to score and that’s what we did.”

Chelsea FC will look to make it four wins in a row in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when they host Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
