Ian Wright feels that Chelsea FC are going to miss out on a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

The Blues are currently preparing for their first season under Maurizio Sarri after the Italian manager was appointed as the club’s new manager last month following the sacking of Antonio Conte.

Chelsea FC have been relatively busy in the summer transfer window and brought in Kepa and Mateo Kovacic on loan before Thursday’s deadline.

They have also signed Rob Green and Jorginho as they gear up for Sarri’s first campaign in charge at the west London club.

However, former Arsenal star Wright seems to think that the west London side are going to struggle to produce consistent performances next season under their new boss.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Wright said: “At the moment it looks like they will be relying on Olivier Giroud because it is not happening for Alvaro Morata and we have seen that Michy Batshuayi is not going to do it at this level.

“So they need another striker which is why, as things stand, they don’t make my top four.”

Chelsea FC ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table and won the FA Cup under Conte last term.

The west London side will be aiming to break back into the top four at the very least this season after they had to settle for Europa League football this time around.

Chelsea FC have won the Premier League title in two of the last four years.
