John Terry sends message to new Chelsea FC signing
John Terry has his say on Chelsea FC's signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao
John Terry is hoping that new Chelsea FC signing Kepa Arrizabalaga can emulate Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge following his move to the west London club.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper signed for the Blues from Athletic Bilbao on a seven-year contract last week after Chelsea FC agreed to sell Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.
Courtois had been relentlessly linked with a move away from Chelsea FC in the summer months because he had only one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and he finally completed his move to Real Madrid last week.
Kepa will now be hoping to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Stamford Bridge as he bids to try and help Chelsea FC enjoy a successful first season under Maurizio Sarri.
And former Chelsea FC captain Terry was quick to offer his thoughts on the transfer after it was confirmed last week.
Terry posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: “Good Luck @thibautcourtois in your new chapter @realmadrid
“A great man and for me the best keeper in the world 💙👊🏻 @chelseafc
“We welcome @kepaarrizabalaga to our club and hope he can be as successful as you and @petrcech 💙.”
Chelsea FC ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table last season and won the FA Cup in Antonio Conte’s final campaign in charge.
The west London side had won the Premier League title in Conte’s first campaign at the club before that.
