Alvaro Morata admits Chelsea FC must improve
Alvaro Morata reflects on Chelsea FC's start to the season under new boss Maurizio Sarri
Alvaro Morata has admitted that Chelsea FC still have plenty of room for improvement despite their solid start to the season under Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues won their first home Premier League game under their new manager on Saturday as they claimed a 3-2 victory over Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
Morata netted his first goal of the Premier League season for the west London side as he helped Chelsea FC to claim the three points against their local rivals.
The win on Saturday left Chelsea FC in third place in the Premier League table and behind Liverpool FC and leaders Manchester City after two games of the new campaign.
Morata seems to be pleased with how life under Sarri is unfolding, but he also admits that there is plenty of room for improvement this term.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Chelsea FC’s website, Morata said: “I think we play good football when we have the ball.
“We need to improve on small things but it’s only been one month since we’ve all been together with the manager and I think if we continue like this we can play against any team in the world.
“I’m very happy because it was three very important points against Arsenal.
“In the Premier League I think if you win your first five games you’re in the fight because here in every game you can lose or drop points.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United.
The west London side will be aiming to break back into the top four this season at the very least after they ended up in fifth place in the table and won the FA Cup last term.
