Willian has openly admitted that he hopes he will get the chance to work under Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho again one day.

Willian was a key part of the Chelsea FC squad who won the League Cup and Premier League double under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge in the 2014-15 campaign.

The Brazilian attacker’s future at Stamford Bridge has been a constant source of speculation this summer after his lack of playing time under Antonio Conte last term.

Willian has made no secret of the fact that he was frustrated by his lack of opportunities under Conte last term, although he has now reported back to the west London club to begin his pre-season preparations under new boss Maurizio Sarri.

However, the 29-year-old’s latest comments will do little to quell the speculation about his future, as he has also been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.

Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Willian said: “Mourinho is the best manager I’ve ever worked with. We have a good relationship, we are friends.

“Sometimes we talk, we text, we send messages to each other via WhatsApp. He is a great manager, I really enjoyed working with him. I hope I can work with him again someday.”

Chelsea FC are thought to still be on the lookout for some more new signings before the transfer deadline on Thursday.

The Blues lost 2-0 to Manchester City in their Community Shield clash against the Premier League champions at Wembley on Sunday.
