Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Blues are keen to move to bring in the 25-year-old goalkeeper before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The west London side are thought to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer as Thibaut Courtois’ future continues to be a constant source of speculation.
According to the same story, Courtois informed new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri that he wants to leave the club this summer, and that has caused the Blues to start looking at potential replacements.
The article says that Chelsea FC have now identified Oblak their top priority this summer as they look to strengthen their options at the back before the deadline.
The same story claims that Chelsea FC will now make their move to try and sign Oblak as soon as possible as they bid to try and revamp their squad ahead of the start of the Premier League season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City in their first competitive game under Sarri in the Community Shield on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues take on Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener on Saturday.
