Antonio Rudiger makes admission about Eden Hazard at Chelsea FC
Antonio Rudiger discusses Chelsea FC's wealth of attacking options at Stamford Bridge
Antonio Rudiger has admitted that Maurizio Sarri is lucky to be able to call upon the likes of Eden Hazard and Willian up front for Chelsea FC.
Hazard made his first start of the Premier League season on Sunday as he helped the Blues to claim a 2-1 win at Newcastle United and notch up their third straight win of the top flight campaign.
The 27-year-old’s future had been a constant source of speculation all summer, with Real Madrid linked with a move to sign the Belgian, but the playmaker has ended up staying at Stamford Bridge for the time being at least.
Hazard scored the penalty which set Chelsea FC on their way towards victory against the Magpies on Sunday afternoon, and Blues defender Rudiger has admitted that new boss Sarri has a wealth of options to choose from up front.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Rudiger said: “Competition brings out the best in everyone, it is good like that.
“I think for the coach it is not the easiest choice because at the front you have really good, quality players and of course Eden is one of them, and also to have Willian on the bench is not easy for the coach and yes, I think it is good to have many options.
“For the attacking players it was good [at Newcastle], because we mostly had the ball and that is good for those type of players.
“To make those players defend, it is not their strength but with players like Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante, it is a good mix because those two players they can attack but they can also defend as well.”
Hazard will be expecting to feature for Chelsea FC when the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home clash against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are currently level on points with early leaders Chelsea FC as they look to at least break back into the top four this season.
