Maurizio Sarri has insisted that he is not concerned about Alvaro Morata ahead of his second season at Chelsea FC.

The striker missed a number of chances and a penalty during their pre-season friendly defeat by Arsenal in Dublin on Wednesday night in another worrying display by the forward.

The 25-year-old made a strong start to life at Chelsea FC last season after signing from Real Madrid, but he struggled to produce consistent form in the second half of the campaign as he ended up missing out on a spot in the Spain squad for the World Cup.

Morata’s future at Chelsea FC has been a source of speculation this summer, but as things stand he is set to stay at the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Morata’s wife Alice Campello gave birth to twins over the weekend, and speaking about the striker’s performance, Sarri insisted that he was not concerned.

Sarri told his post-match news conference in Dublin on Wednesday night: “I don’t know if he is not confident. Maybe he was tired. The last three days for him were very intense, so maybe this match he was a bit tired.

“I am not worried about Morata.”

Chelsea FC will be aiming to be one of the main challengers for the Premier League title next season as the Blues look to try and bounce back from their disappointing fifth placed finish last term.
