Maurizio Sarri delivers Willian Chelsea FC contract update
Maurizio Sarri insists that he is hoping that Willian will commit his future to Chelsea FC

Maurizio Sarri has insisted that he is hoping that Willian will commit his long-term future to Chelsea FC.
The Brazilian playmaker is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top attacking talent but Willian was linked with a move away from Chelsea FC in the summer transfer window.
Willian struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Chelsea FC last season under Antonio Conte and that prompted talk of a transfer away from Stamford Bridge.
However, the Brazilian now seems to be more settled under new boss Sarri as he bids to try and help the Blues enjoy a strong Premier League season.
There has been talk of Willian being handed a new contract at Chelsea FC, but although Sarri is confident that the Brazilian will stay at the club this season, he admits that talk of a new deal is beyond his remit.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday, Sarri said: “For us Willian is a very useful player so I am sure he will remain here for this season, and I hope for the future, but a new contract is out of my responsibility.
“I can give my opinion to the board and then the board will decide.”
Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their trip to Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as they look to try and make it three wins from three in the top flight this term.
