Chelsea FC are set to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Blues are closing in on a deal to bring Grealish to Stamford Bridge as Maurizio Sarri prepares for his first full season at the club.

According to the same report, Grealish has been on Tottenham’s wish-list all summer but Spurs have so far failed to agree a deal for the midfielder.

Now, although Aston Villa are said to still be hopeful of keeping Grealish, Chelsea FC are reportedly planning to test the club’s resolve with a bid before the close of the transfer window next week.

The same report says that Chelsea FC could be set to snatch Grealish from under Tottenham’s noses and that John Terry has urged the midfielder to move to his former club.

Chelsea FC will be hoping to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title next season as they look to try and bounce back from their disappointing campaign last term.

The Blues are currently getting used to life under new manager Maurizio Sarri as they prepare for the new campaign.
