Real Madrid don’t have the determination to sign Chelsea FC star Eden Hazard this summer, journalist Raphael Honigstein has claimed.

The Blues forward has been linked with a move to the Champions League holders throughout the summer transfer window.

Hazard has made no secret of his affection for los Blancos over the past few seasons to fuel talk of a move to the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid are looking to complete a marquee signing after Cristiano Ronaldo completed a big money switch to Serie A champions Juventus.

Chelsea FC have managed to resist Real Madrid’s interest in the 27-year-old in the summer transfer window so far.

Bundesliga expert Honigstein believes Chelsea FC are likely to keep Hazard at the west London side for the start of the new Premier League season.

“They are running down the clock with Hazard hoping Real Madrid will go away,” Honigstein told ESPN FC. “They might.

“There isn’t much determination from Real Madrid to make this happen.”

Hazard has won two Premier League titles, the Europa League, the FA Cup and the League Cup since his lucrative move to Chelsea FC from Lille in 2012.

The Blues appointed Maurizio Sarri as Antonio Conte’s replacement last month to signal a new era at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea FC have only signed Italy international Jorginho in a £57m deal from Napoli in the summer transfer window.
