For much of the summer, it has been rumoured Chelsea FC’s talisman is the subject of genuine interest from the Champions League winners.
Real Madrid lost 4-2 to bitter rivals Atletico Madrid in the Uefa Super Cup on Wednesday night.
However, Nevin believes that the window being closed early in England, along with no desire from Chelsea FC or Hazard for the deal to happen, means the transfer will come to fruition.
Nevin told Sky Sports’ The Debate: “Not a chance. He isn’t pushing for it. Chelsea don’t want him to go.
“They won’t have an opportunity to bring in a replacement either.”
Chelsea FC fans will be heartened that someone so close to the club insists Hazard himself is not interested in joining the Spanish juggernauts as they will need their number 10 to help ease the transition to new boss Maurizio Sarri’s style of play.
Madrid have flexed their financial muscle and appeal to players consistently over the last decade and have pulled off some of the most high-profile transfers of all time.
The early closing of the English transfer window has wreaked much confusion, and there is anxiety about players leaving whilst it remains open in Europe without the possibility of being replaced.
However, despite signing Courtois on the English deadline-day, Nevin believes Madrid have been foiled in their pursuit of Hazard and the Belgian will staying at Stamford Bridge.
