Chelsea FC are ready to make a bid to sign Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic, according to a report in England.

The Daily Mail, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Blues are interested in a deal to sign the Croatia international to improve their options in the middle of the park.

The same article states that the west London side have decided to make a move to sign Kovacic as the Blues wait and see whether Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal.

According to the same story, Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to improve his options in the middle of the park ahead of his first Premier League campaign.

The Red Devils have also been linked with a potential move to sign the World Cup semi-finalist following Manchester United’s frustrating summer transfer window so far.

Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last season to finish above Spurs and Liverpool FC.

The Red Devils lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley last season.

The 20-time English champions have signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and English goalkeeper Lee Grant.
