The Italy international moved to Chelsea FC in a £57m deal from Serie A giants Napoli in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Jorginho arrived at Stamford Bridge with a big reputation following his impressive stint at the Italian club, including a second-placed finish last term.
The Brazilian-born mifielder struggled during Chelsea FC’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley.
The England international partnered Jorginho in midfield alongside 2017 PFA player of the year N’Golo Kante at John Smith’s Stadium.
Jorginho opened his Chelsea FC account from the penalty spot in the west London side’s 3-0 win against Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener.
Speaking to Chelsea FC’s website about Jorginho’s impact at the Stamford Bridge outfit following his summer move, Barkley said:
“He’s pivotal to the way we play. He’s a real top-quality player, he gets on the ball, gets us playing and against Huddersfield you could see that’s the way it’s going to be this season.”
Chelsea FC haven’t won the Premier League title since 2016-17 when Antonio Conte led the Blues to 30 top-flight victories in his first season in charge.
Sarri has also signed Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovavic, Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa and veteran English goalkeeper Rob Green.
