Sky Sports News reporter: Chelsea FC will target 25-year-old to replace Courtois
Sky Sports News reporter Rob Dorsett claims Chelsea FC will look to sign Jack Butland to replace Thibaut Courtois
Chelsea FC will look to sign Jack Butland to replace Thibaut Courtois, according to Sky Sports News reporter Rob Dorsett.
The Blues are facing interest from Real Madrid in the Belgium international in the summer transfer window after Courtois made it clear that he wants to return to the Spanish capital.
Chelsea FC could look to sell Courtois this summer to ensure they get a return on the shot stopper given the 27-year-old has less than 12 months on his current deal with the west London side.
Butland has been attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs after the England international was powerless to prevent Stoke from suffering relegation to the Championship.
The 25-year-old is rated as one of the best English goalkeepers following his stint at the Britannia Stadium.
Sky Sports News reporter Dorsett believes Chelsea FC will look to sign Butland as a replacement for Courtois.
“He is on Chelsea’s list of replacements if Courtois leaves,” Dorsett told Transfer Talk podcast. “You have Butland and Schmeichel on the list to replace Courtois.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final to end the season with some silverware.
The west London side have signed Jorginho in a £57m deal from Napoli and England star Rob Green.
