Danny Murphy believes Liverpool FC will finish in second place in the Premier League table this season.

The Merseyside outfit have made some improvements under Jurgen Klopp following his appointment in October 2015.

Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot in the Premier League table last term to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.

The Reds have reached three finals under the former Borussia Dortmund head coach but haven’t been able to win silverware so far.

Liverpool FC lost 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League fina in Kiev to end the season with disappointment.

However, Klopp’s summer signings have provided reason to be positive after the addition of Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri.

Former Liverpool FC star Murphy believes the Reds should finish in second spot ahead of Chelsea FC, Man United and Tottenham Hotspur.

“I think Liverpool are the best of the rest,” Murphy told bWIN.

“You look at Chelsea and Arsenal who are starting fresh with new managers and that will take time so there’s a question mark regarding those two teams.

“Tottenham won’t compete for the title because of their lack of investment and they have the stadium move to deal with. I think Liverpool will likely finish second behind Manchester City.”

Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.

The Reds appointed former Borussia Dortmund head coach Klopp as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement in October 2015.
