Alan Shearer heaped praise on Mohamed Salah following his winner in Liverpool FC’s 1-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The Reds had the chance to hoist themselves above defending champions Manchester City following the Citizens’ 1-1 draw with promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the day’s early kick-off.
Salah broke the deadlock in the first half with a precise finish to end Brighton’s resistance after a strong start from Chris Hughton’s side, who were 3-2 winners against Manchester United last week.
Brazil international Alisson Becker produced a big save at the end of the Premier League clash to secure three points and start to repay his £67m transfer fee.
The Reds held on to secure the win and move to the top of the Premier League table, two points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side.
Former Newcastle striker Shearer raved about Salah’s winner at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
