Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC to ease to a comfortable win over Brighton at Anfield on Saturday evening.

The Reds have made a positive start to the Premier League season to fuel talk of a potential title challenge this season.

Liverpool FC are still waiting to win their first trophy under Jurgen Klopp after the former Borussia Dortmund head coach took over the reins in Mayn 2016.

The Reds were 4-0 winners against West Ham United at Anfield in their opening Premier League fixture courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge.

Jurgen Klopp’s side made it successive Premier League victories at Selhurst Park earlier this week after James Milner and Mane found the net in a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.

Manchester City are sitting at the top of the Premier League table ahead of Liverpool FC on goal difference.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is confident that the Reds will beat Brighton at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

“A fantastic win for Brighton against a largely out-of-sorts Manchester United at the Amex on Sunday, but they will find the pace, energy and quality of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds a different proposition at Anfield,” Owen told BetVictor.

“These are very early days, but the clean sheet for Liverpool at Selhurst Park on Monday was significant for me. In previous campaigns the Reds may have wilted and conceded against the Eagles, but Virgil van Dijk and Alisson have added composure and quality to Jurgen Klopp’s defence.”

Liverpool FC signed AS Monaco star Fabinho, RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the 2018 summer transfer window.

The Reds have never won the Premier League title.
