The Reds were very active in the 2018 summer transfer window after Jurgen Klopp added four new players to their squad.
Liverpool FC signed AS Monaco star Fabinho, RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker in the 2018 summer transfer window.
The Reds were 4-0 winners against West Ham United at Anfield in their opening Premier League fixture courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge.
Jurgen Klopp’s side made it successive Premier League victories at Selhurst Park earlier this week after James Milner and Mane found the net in a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.
Liverpool FC are in second place in the Premier League table and behind defending Premier League champions Manchester City on goal difference after two games.
Former Arsenal star Merson is backing Liverpool FC to make it a third successive Premier League win against Brighton at Anfield on Saturday evening.
“It’s going to be Liverpool, but by how many? Brighton had a great result against United, no doubt about that, but Liverpool are a different kettle of fish at home,” Merson told Sky Sports.
He added: “I think it will go quite a way until the spring, don’t get me wrong, but when push comes to shove and as time goes on, I don’t know if Liverpool’s squad can do it for the entire season.”
Brighton were surprise 3-2 winners against Manchester United at the Amex Stadium last weekend to notch up successive victories over the Red Devils in the Premier League.
