Chris Sutton has tipped Alisson Becker to play a major role for Liverpool FC in the title race this season.

The Merseyside outfit signed Alisson in a world record £67m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma to improve a problem position for Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool F.C. haven’t had a world class goalkeeper since Pepe Reina before the Spain international was sold under Brendan Rodgers.

Loris Karius was heavily criticised for his poor performance in the Champions League final in Kiev back in May to raise questions about his future.

The German shot stopper made two big errors to allow Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale to get on the score sheet.

His understudy Simon Mignolet has failed to convince since his move to Liverpool FC in a £11m deal from Sunderland in 2013.

Former Chelsea FC striker Sutton is expecting Alisson to be a difference maker for the Reds in the Premier League.

“I think Alisson will be a big player for Liverpool,” Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“Their season will depend on Alisson’s form. I saw him at AS Roma. He is a really confident goalkeeper.”

The Reds started their summer spending with the £48m signing of Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig.

Liverpool FC added Brazilian star Fabinho in a £39m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

The Merseyside outfit brought in Xherdan Shaqiri in a cut price £13.5m deal from Stoke City.
