Martin Keown raves about new Liverpool FC signing: He’s one of the best
The Arsenal legend is impressed with Alisson Becker's start to life at Liverpool FC
Martin Keown has heaped praise on Alisson Becker after his impressive start to his Liverpool FC career.
The Reds signed the Brazil international in a £67m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Liverpool FC recruited Alisson to end what has been a problem position for the Reds over the past few seasons under Jurgen Klopp.
The 25-year-old made a promising start to the season following successive clean sheets in victories over West Ham and Crystal Palace.
Alisson produced one of the standout moments of Liverpool FC’s 1-0 win over Brighton when he came off his line and chipped the ball over an attacker.
The Brazil number one established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A during his two-season stint in the AS Roma first team.
Former Arsenal defender Keown heaped praise on the South American goalkeeper following his excellent start to his Anfield career,
“I admire Alisson’s confidence,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
“He has the presence and the charisma to be the Liverpool goalkeeper. Already, his creative play is some of the best we have seen from a goalkeeper.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last term to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title in their history but Klopp’s side are being talked up as genuine title contenders this season.
