Gary Neville identifies one Liverpool FC weakness
The Man United legend believes Liverpool FC lack depth up front
Gary Neville believes the only weakness in the Liverpool FC team is the lack of cover for Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino.
The Reds were one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window as Jurgen Klopp landed some big signings to bolster his squad ahead of the new season.
Liverpool FC spent £39m on AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho and finally brought in RB Leipzig star Naby Keita in a £48m transfer fee to improve their midfield options.
The Reds have also added more depth to their attacking options with the addition of Stoke City and Switzerland playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri in a £13.5m deal.
The Merseyside outfit temporarily made Alisson Becker the world’s most expensive goalkeepers after Klopp signed the Brazil number one in a £67m deal from Serie A giants AS Roma.
Liverpool FC were 4-0 winners against West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge on Merseyside.
Former Manchester United star Neville believes the Reds lack depth up front having otherwise made impressive improvements to their squad in the summer transfer window.
“Can Liverpool reproduce that high-intensity football Saturday-Wednesday? And did they need another centre-forward in case Firmino is out?” Neville told Sky Sports.
“Because I do think there is a big drop in intensity in their play when him or Salah are not playing.”
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
