The Liverpool FC star lavishes praise on Jordan Henderson ahead of the new Premier League season
James Milner has hailed Jordan Henderson’s leadership skills at Liverpool FC.
The Reds skipper is currently enjoying a well earned break after the versatile midfielder helped Henderson to reach the World Cup semi-finals.
Henderson earned rave reviews for his performances against Colombia and Sweden in the round of 16 and last eight before a 2-1 extra-time loss to Croatia.
The 27-year-old played a key role in Liverpool FC’s run to the Champions League final following knockout stage victories over FC Porto, Manchester City and AS Roma.
Henderson has stepped up to the mark since taking over the captain’s armband from Liverpool FC legend Steven Gerrard despite being on the brink of an exit in 2013.
Liverpool FC vice captain Milner has lavished praise on Henderson ahead of the new Premier League season.
“We’ve got Hendo to come back and I know he’s running because he’s been sending me messages,” Milner is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
“So he’ll be ready to go when he comes back.
“Of course he is [itching to get back], that’s why he’s a top player and a proper leader.
“He works so hard, so he’ll be ready to go and could probably play a day after he comes back, to be honest!”
