Jurgen Klopp told new Liverpool FC signing has strengthened team ‘massively’
Former Premier League right-back Liam Rosenior claims that the new Liverpool FC signing has ‘everything’
Liam Rosenior has heaped praise on new Liverpool FC signing Naby Keita after his performance in the 4-0 opening day win over West Ham.
The African star moved to Merseyside from RB Leipzig in a £54m deal which was agreed in 2017 to provide energy beside Jordan Henderson.
He received rave reviews for his performances in pre-season before Keita’s impressive showing in Liverpool FC’s opening day win.
Former Fulham defender Rosenior’s assessment of his debut was glowing.
Rosenior told to Sky Sports: “I love Keïta. He has everything.
“He is a box to box player. He has strengthened their starting XI massively.”
Keita has hit the ground running but faces a tough assignment in his second game, an away match at former Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson’s organised and resolute Crystal Palace.
Hodgson will be sure not to employ the same disastrous high-line that West Ham manager Manual Pellegrini did last Sunday.
The ex-England boss will set his team to specifically to shut off supply from the midfield, and there is a good chance that nullifying Keita will be central to his plans.
Monday should provide a more accurate test for Keita as he will not be afforded the same space as Hodgson relentlessly employs two banks of four, shutting off space for opposition midfielders to pull the strings.
However, if Rosenior’s assessment holds true on Monday, Keita will be able to take a lot from operating against such a strong side.
