Pat Nevin makes blunt Liverpool FC title prediction
The former Chelsea FC star believes Liverpool FC are a long way behind defending champions Man City
Liverpool FC are a long way behind defending Premier League champions Manchester City, Pat Nevin has insisted.
The Reds have been talked up as potential Premier League title contenders this season despite Liverpool FC finishing in fourth place and 25 points adrift of Manchester City last term.
Liverpool FC reached the Champions League final thanks to victories over FC Porto, Manchester City and AS Roma before a 3-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in Kiev back in May.
The Merseyside outfit signed AS Monaco midfielder Fabinho, RB Leipzig star Naby Keita, Stoke City playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri and AS Roma shot stopper Alisson Becker.
Liverpool FC have made a positive start to the Premier League campaign following a 4-0 win over West Ham United thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Daniel Sturridge.
The Reds edged to a 2-0 win against 10-man Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after James Milner netted from the penalty spot and Sadio Mane scored a goal on the break.
Liverpool FC have managed to keep successive clean sheets thanks to the performances of Alisson and Virgil van Dijk.
However, Manchester City are sitting at the top of the table ahead of Liverpool FC on goal difference.
Former Chelsea FC star Nevin doesn’t believe Liverpool FC will come close to Manchester City in the title race.
“Watching Liverpool at Palace, they are a long way behind Man City,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk.
