Virgil van Dijk has lavished praise on Alisson Becker after the Liverpool FC signing’s assured start to his Anfield career.
The Brazil international completed a £67m move to Liverpool FC from Serie A giants AS Roma in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Alisson kept a clean sheet on his debut in a 4-0 victory over West Ham United at Anfield earlier this month.
The Liverpool FC number 13 was handed a rather more testing 90 minutes against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday night.
Alisson made two saves and claimed one cross in an assured performance behind centre-halves Joe Gomez and Van Dijk.
The Brazilian shot stopper showcased his skills with the ball at his feet after the Liverpool FC goalkeeper finished with 91 per cent pass completion.
Liverpool FC secured a 2-0 win against Palace at Selhurst Park thanks to goals from James Milner and Sadio Mane.
Speaking to Sky Sports following the Merseyside outfit’s comfortable win against the Eagles, Van Dijk heaped praise on Alisson.
“He is a fantastic goalkeeper,” Van Dijk said.
“You can see the presence he has. He is very composed. He is a good character as well. I am very happy with him.”
Liverpool FC finished in fourth spot in the Premier League table last term to ensure their continued participation in the Champions League.
The Reds haven’t won the Premier League title but finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014.
