Gary Neville predicts where Liverpool FC, Man City will finish this season
The Manchester United legend believes Manchester City will retain their title despite Liverpool FC's improvements
Gary Neville believes Manchester City will retain their Premier League title ahead of a challenge from the other top four clubs.
The Citizens won the Premier League title last season after Manchester City finished 19 points ahead of runners up Manchester United.
Liverpool FC have signed Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri in the 2018 summer transfer window to bolster their squad.
Chelsea FC have appointed Maurizio Sarri as their new manager and the Italian head coach will be looking to implement his style.
Manchester United endured a disappointing summer transfer window after missing out on some key targets despite the arrival of Fred and Diogo Dalot.
Manchester City, Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC have all won their opening two Premier League games.
Former Manchester United defender Neville hinted that Manchester City are in pole position to retain their Premier League crown.
“Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are chasing City and they have to gain encouragement from somewhere in the first part of the season,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“In the first two games there’s been no encouragement against Arsenal and Huddersfield.
‘Someone has to leave one on City and leave a seed of doubt that they can be caught.”
Manchester City were 2-0 winners against Arsenal at The Emirates before a 6-1 home victory over Huddersfield Town at The Etihad.
The Citizens will take on their biggest challengers to the Premier League title against Liverpool FC at Anfield on Sunday 7 October.
