Jamie Carragher predicts where Liverpool FC, Man City will finish
The Liverpool FC legend believes Manchester City are favourites to win the Premier League title
Jamie Carragher has accepted that Manchester City are favourites to win the Premier League title ahead of Liverpool FC.
The Reds are in second place in the Premier League table after two successive victories to make a good start to the season.
Liverpool FC were 4-0 winners against West Ham United at Anfield in their season opener thanks to goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge.
The Merseyside outfit battled to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night courtesy of goals from James Milner and Mane.
Manchester City have laid down a marker with a 6-1 win against Huddersfield Town following a 2-0 win at Arsenal in the opening game of their Premier League defence.
The Citizens were clear winners in the title race last term and Manchester City finished 25 points ahead of fourth-placed Liverpool FC.
Former Liverpool FC defender Carragher believes the Reds will challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.
“People say how impressive Liverpool have been at the start of the season, but how impressive have City been?” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“They’ve gone to Arsenal, a top-six rival, and then the manner of the win over Huddersfield. It could have been 2-0 or 3-0 after five minutes, that’s how good they are. It’s difficult to look past City and if they do what I expect them to do, I expect them to have a period of domination.
“At the end of Pep’s time we could be talking about one of the great teams seen in this country.”
Liverpool FC are still waiting to win their first Premier League title and their inaugural trophy since appointing Klopp as Brendan Rodgers’ successor in 2015.
The Reds lost 3-1 to La Liga side Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev back in May.
