The Reds were 4-0 winners over West Ham United in their opening Premier League game on Sunday.
Former Reds striker Rush is confident that Liverpool FC can push Manchester City all the way in the Premier League title race this season.
Rush told the Second Captains podcast: “Liverpool aren’t a selling club. They are a club that want to win trophies. They have shown intent. They are ready now. They are going to keep their best players.”
Liverpool FC haven’t won the Premier League title, lifting the English top flight title in 1990 before a 28-year drought.
The Reds finished in second place in 2002, 2009 and 2014 under Gerard Houllier, Rafael Benitez and Brendan Rodgers.
